Pre-wedding Photo Shoots in Thailand

Submitted by CLX-view on August 3, 2015

Pre-wedding photo shoots have long been in a tradition for couples-to-be in Asia, but now the tropical surroundings of Phuket and Koh Samui have become a popular location for couples from around the globe in search of the perfect pre-wedding pictures.

In addition to posing for hundreds of photographs on the wedding day itself, an increasing number of brides and grooms are organizing creative pre-wedding photo shoots.

Lucky couples tying the knot in the Land of Smiles are spoilt for choice when it comes to the range of locations in which to set up their perfect poses, and the number of unique themes that are possible is also endless.

A cool selection of pre-wedding photographs – blown up large for extra impact – is a perfect way to decorate your private villa with when the big day rolls around.

Below are a few ideas on how you can add a little humour and fun to your pre-wedding photo call.

Beach Beautiful

Pre-wedding photography offers the chance to explore a dramatic range of locations – particularly when you’re organising a shoot on a tropical Thai island. Beautiful beaches are easy to find on Koh Samui and Phuket, and photographers have the time and space to experiment with a few cool techniques that they might not be able to use on the wedding day itself. Ocean views infuse every pre-wedding photo shoot with colour, but it’s easy to add a little fun as well. Try writing cute messages in the sand that can be incorporated into the photo, and don’t forget the obligatory “jump up and laugh out loud” pose that is an essential for every beach photo.

Themes to Remember

If you’re a fan of getting dressed up then a pre-wedding photo shoot is your perfect chance to have a little fun. If you and your loved one have a favourite movie, why not hire a couple of costumes and dress up as a famous loved-up couple? Whether you pose as Romeo and Juliet or Batman and Robin, the images are bound to provide a few giggles – not only during the shoot but also when your friends and family see the photos later on. If you’re in search of something a little more classy, introduce the glitz of the 1920s into your shoot with vintage hair styles, braces for the groom and a splash of red lipstick for the bride.

On the Move

If you're in need of a prop or two, why not give your photos a little character by posing with some vintage vehicles? You'll be surprised how beautifully the photos come out. Alternatively, make the most of your tropical location by posing in a Thai longtail boat in all your finery as it cruises out to sea. You could even take a romantic drive in a tuk tuk to make sure your photos are extra entertaining. If motorbikes are more your thing, a few poses with an impressive Harley D will be sure to make the wedding album shine with personality.

Words Come Easy

Create a more personal theme for your pre-wedding photos by incorporating a few captions into the frame. The text can be as simple as your new married names, the date of your wedding, or even personal messages to one another. If you’re on the beach, you also have the luxury of being able to write your captions in the sand. Alternatively, use whimsical chalk boards or colourful cue cards to get your message across. Writing unique messages to your new husband or wife will not only look good on camera; it will also help you to create a whole host of memories to cherish.

Bubbles and Balloons

On their wedding day, many brides and grooms feel so full of love and happiness that they could simply float up into the sky… perhaps with the help of a few balloons, that is. Balloons aren’t just play-things for kiddies, they add a fun, dreamy element to your pre-wedding and even your actual wedding photos. They are also a great prop for photographers that want to add colours, shapes and interesting shadows. Bubbles will also add a romantic,  effect to your photographs – as well as offering a bit of playful fun.
