Five fabulous makeup looks to wear down the tropical aisle on your big day by the beach.

Every bride wants to look her best when the big day finally arrives, no matter if it's in a austere church on the shores of a tropical island.

With the dress packed, jewellery purchased and shoes on order that still leaves hair style and makeup inspiration to be decided on. In tropical Thailand, selecting the right set of products is crucial for every bride. The last thing you want before your photo session is to find your carefully applied makeup is sliding off in the sun.

Many brides even hire their own makeup artists to come to their private villa to make sure they and their bridesmaids are preened to perfection before the ceremony begins.

Below are some of the best makeup looks to try out for inspiration before you face the crowd.

Sassy and Smouldering

If your ceremony is being held within the air-conditioned comfort of a private villa, then there is no need to worry about the clash between bold makeup and hot sun. If you like to rock a classic combination of smoky eyes and red lips, don’t be afraid to do the same on your wedding day. There is no need for red lips to look trashy – opt for a darker hue like Cara Delevigne to make sure you keep it classy. There is no need for smoky eyes to be limited to charcoal tones either – silver, jade and brown versions of this smoky eye work equally as well.

You’re Worth It

If you want your natural beauty to shine through in your wedding photographs, keep it clean and simple like Loreal cover girl Blake Lively. A lighter look is also ideal for outdoor weddings where your face is going to be exposed to the elements. Keep eye liner more intense towards the outer corners of your eyes only. Complete the look with a pale pink dusting of blush across your cheeks and a soft, bright pink on your lips for an extra pop of colour.

Who Said sleepy?

If manic excitement stopped you from catching a wink of sleep before your wedding, then have no fear. There are plenty of makeup tips to hide tired eyes and create a warm, well-rested look. First of all, pop a few nourishing eye drops in to make your eyes sparkle that bit brighter. Secondly, top your eyes (above and below) with a white eyeliner, and blend it in until only a subtle hint of colour is left. Next, gently trace your top lash line with black liquid eyeliner and apply a brightening peachy blush to your cheeks for a healthy glow.

Keeping Up with Kim

If Kim Kardashian is one of your style icons, then why not look to her wedding makeup for inspiration on your own special day? For her lavish wedding to Kanye West, Kim kept things relatively simple by lining her eyes on the top and bottom and blending in a little charcoal-coloured shadow onto the eyelid for a more dramatic effect. Revered as the queen of contouring, Kim copycats should follow her lead by contouring cheeks with a light dusting of bronzer before completing the whole look with a simple swish of nude lip gloss.

Minimal Makeup

If you aren’t really a makeup lover, there is no need to suddenly start piling on layers of products just because it’s your wedding day. In fact, if you aren’t used to wearing a lot of makeup, putting on an extra load of bronzer, foundation or lip gloss may just make you feel uncomfortable. Instead, keep things minimal by pairing a taupe eye shadow with a nude, matte lipstick. A tiny touch of blush will complete the look, and give your face a photogenic edge without the need to cake on layers of makeup. After all, the fact that you’re getting married should give you enough of a natural glow.
