As well as being an idyllic destination for blissful beach weddings, Thailand is also something of a shoppers’ paradise for guests who haven’t had time to pick up an outfit for the big day.
In fact, Thailand’s vast range of designers and expert tailors means that wedding guests are spoilt for choice when it comes to browsing for sharp wedding ensembles, so it’s a good idea to wait until you arrive before splashing out on an outfit.

If you want an outfit tailored to your own measurements, Thailand is one of the best places in the world to do so. If you are having a own suit made, it’s best to do it as soon as you land in Thailand, as it will take up to a week for the best tailors to complete a series of fittings to provide the perfect outfit.

If you fancy mooching around a swish mall for your wedding outfit, Thailand has plenty to choose from. Whether you’re searching for a classic two-piece by Chanel or a striking gown by Dior, Bangkok’s malls have it all. Siam Paragon is one of the best places to go for international designer shops, including Calvin Klein, Gucci and Chanel. Likewise, Emporium (just a few BTS stops away from the Paragon) is home to a glittering array of designer boutiques, from Louise Vuitton to Versace. Phuket and Koh Samui also boast a number of quality fashion outlets so you may well end up coming away with more potential wedding outfits than you bargained for.

An increasing number of Thai fashion designers are making names for themselves on the global stage, and Disaya is one of them. Kai outlets can be found in Bangkok’s Central Chidlom, Siam Paragon and the Emporium, and offer a world of shimmering and intricate patterns, stunning embellishments and spectacular attention to detail that you wouldn’t bat an eye at seeing paraded down the catwalks at London or Paris fashion week.

Stresis is another Thai fashion label that is growing in popularity. Formed by three sisters – if you didn’t already notice, ‘Stresis’ spells ‘Sisters’ backwards – the design house has a glamourous array of collections under its belt. Ensembles of silk, chiffon and satin – all ideal for formal wedding celebrations – are recurring themes in the collections.
