Romantic Thailand Targets Couples

The Tourism Authority (TAT) has marked February “the month of love” by launching a new campaign to entice couples to the Kingdom for a romantic break. The initiative promotes “Romantic Thailand” and is aimed at couples in love, getting married, on their honeymoon or celebrating an anniversary.

“We want to focus on various attractions to answer every lifestyle for different kinds of couples to enjoy that phase of the relationship,” said a spokesperson from the TAT. “Whether you’re a young couple, on a honeymoon or in a long-lasting marriage, Thailand offers many romantic memories.”

Over the last decade, Thailand has grown in popularity with couples seeking to host destination weddings in tropical locations. The Kingdom’s private villa sector in particular has benefited from significant growth in this market, with many lavish ceremonies now taking place in private rental properties scattered across islands like Phuket and Koh Samui.

The tourist authority’s campaign, which will run throughout February, is also partnered with Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport, where couples will be offered a fast-track service through immigration, romantic souvenirs and extra privileges – including entry into a lucky draw.

“In recent years, Thailand has been voted ‘Best Honeymoon Destination’ by various websites and media. We want all the couples to have a memorable time in Thailand, and one of the best ways is by facilitating their passage through the Kingdom’s main gateway airport,” said Yuthasak Supasorn, governor of the TAT.

For visitors in search of a private place to celebrate the month of love, an exclusive property in Koh Samui or Phuket may prove the perfect destination. Villas provide couples with the option to host completely personalized wedding ceremonies, with everything from the wedding breakfast menu to the décor planned and arranged by a professional agency like The Signature Weddings. Couples work hand-in-hand with a dedicated wedding planner throughout the process, so there is as little stress as possible in the run up to the big day.
