Thailand’s Tonic for Fading Love

Thailand’s Tonic for Fading Love

Long a popular destination for newlyweds, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) recently unveiled plans to promote Thailand as a destination to infuse some passion into long term relationships.

TAT’s executive director for Europe, Africa and the Middle East, Tanes Petsuwan, believes that tourism schemes aimed at couples should encompass more than just honeymoons. Therefore the TAT will start aiming new promotions at couples in search of a fresh romantic spark.

The new ‘love remedy’ promotion will be a top focus in the TAT’s marketing campaigns in 2016, and according to Khun Petsuwan, the destinations that will feature heavily include Trang, Nan and Trat provinces. “The peaceful and beautiful beaches in Trang and Trat, and the slow, traditional way of life in Nan should give couples more time to talk and stay together,’ he explained.

The TAT has also announced plans to re-brand Thailand as an affordable luxury destination, rather than a value-for-money holiday setting. The new policy is in keeping with global travel trends that indicate people are looking for luxury destinations at prices that won’t break the bank.

In terms of luxury, Thailand’s impressive selection of private holiday villas are an ace card in the Kingdom’s offerings. Indeed, the selection of plush holiday properties on Phuket and Samui are often used as venues not only for weddings, but also for ceremonies to renew wedding vows.

In terms of facilities, private villas offer everything a discerning traveller in search of a little luxury could ask for. From expansive living quarters to idyllic landscaped gardens, many of these villas truly have it all – including a private pool and direct beach access from many properties.

For couples hosting vow renewal ceremonies, beachside villas are becoming an increasingly popular choice as the perfect location to re-affirm their love for each other with the sand between their toes. Such opulent holiday villas offer them the luxury of designing a celebration that suits their particular tastes and needs. In fact, many couples plunge headfirst into Thailand’s rich culture by planning traditional Thai Buddhist ceremonies to celebrate their love.
