10 Days in Thailand

Glentoran and Tourism Authority of Thailand are both delighted that Northern Ireland's football champions will tour Thailand in June 2010.

Glentoran has received a major invitation to play three games in Thailand. The games will include a match with the Thai National team currently managed by Peter Reid, former Manchester City and England, and two local teams from the domestic league.

The tour will take place in Thailand over ten days in early June 2010 with the precise dates to be confirmed shortly.

This is the first time an Irish football team has visited Thailand although many English Premiership teams pay regular visits.

We have no doubt that this will capture the imagination of our supporters as it feels like "three away games in paradise", and official travel packages are being specially prepared for them which will qualify them exclusively to attend the final Gala Celebration Dinner.

Glens Chairman Aubry Ralph remarked "This is a wonderful opportunity for Glentoran and our supporters. To have a unique experience travelling with the new Irish Premier Champions in a magnificent country for tourism is without precedent and we are absolutely delighted at the opportunity."

Thailand's Ambassador to the UK and Ireland, His Excellency Kitti Wasinondh, expressed his appreciation that the planning of this exciting tour has materialized and he hoped that this would be the first of many successful ventures together. He was certain that the Thais would definitely look forward to receiving the team as well as watching these great matches.
